Mesdames et Messieurs,
We're proud to say that Ambition: A Minuet in Power successfully launched yesterday on Steam, Humble Bundle and GOG!
We're extremely pleased with our final product, and we hope you are too! None of this would have been possible without your support, and we're deeply thankful to each and every one of you.
Of course, nothing actually ends in game development. In the last 2 days, over 1,000 players have together played a cumulative total of ~2,500 hours of Ambition: A Minuet in Power. That's already more hours that our small team has been able to test the game in Ambition's entire 4 year cycle of development. With that in mind, people are going to find bugs that we missed, and we're going to patch them! In fact, if you run into such a bug, please send it to [email protected] and we'll prioritize it immediately!
The next few weeks will be devoted to supporting and patching the game when we can, while also trying to rest our team up from the stress of, well... launching a game.
In between patches, we'll also be working both a Nintendo Switch port of the game, as well as getting all of the Physical Kickstarter Backer Rewards ready and shipped out to people. Keep an eye on this space for more updates on that, moving forward!
Some backers have run into issues with getting their copy of the game from Backerkit. Have no fear! if you're running into issues, then please email our customer support team (which is also me) at [email protected]. We'll get everything sorted our for you ASAP!

Our New Release Date: August 18th!

Mesdames et Messieurs,
After unfortunate delays, weeks of bug fixes, and rounds of polish, we have the new release date for Ambition: A Minuet in Power on PC and Mac, and it's soon!
That's right! Ambition: A Minuet in Power will be releasing to the general public this month on August 18th! Soon you'll be able to play the revolutionary romance that you've helped us make!

Progress and Nice To Haves!

Mesdames et Messieurs,
As we continue to polish Ambition for release after our necessary delay, we wanted to give you an update on what, exactly we've been working on in the meantime.
Specifically, right now we've been focusing on fixing some last bugs, as well as implementing some quality of life improvements that we didn't have a chance to work on earlier. These improvements will, of course, make the final release even better.
Map Modal Updates
Both the Party Map and the Paris Map make use of a preview modal, that lets you check out a location or conversation before you commit to going there. This modal includes a 'Potential Rewards' list that tells you what you could possibly gain or lose at that location. We've updated that list to be more thorough.
It now includes favor that you can potentially gain or lose with your love interests.
Additionally, these modals now also include your ability to meet and hire servants during that particular incident.
Thérèse Updates
Speaking of servants, another thing that became noticeable during this period was that your spymistress, Thérèse just didn't do enough. While you could hire her, and she could be helpful during particular incidents, she simply wasn't justifying her weekly cost. To help make Thérèse a more compelling choice, she now will also appear at the end of incidents during the romance arcs of your love interests, to advise you on what the next steps towards winning that individual's heart might be.
Outfit Updates
Outfits are such an important part of Ambition that we thought it would be a grand idea to expand on their visuals slightly, and thus we've added alternate colors for the sprites of every article of clothing you can purchase in Fatima's shop. Which one here is your favorite?

Release Date Delayed

Mesdames et Messieurs,
It's with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Ambition: A Minuet in Power's Steam release will be delayed. We're currently looking at August for the release, and we'll go into more detail as to why below.
The reason for this delay is that, over the last 1.5 weeks, we've uncovered a bunch of new bugs that were too serious to launch with. While we were initially confident in our ability to get everything polished up for release to everyone on the 26th, it started to become clear that our options were either:
- Launch something incomplete to our fans
- Delay the game
Of course, delaying a game isn't a simple as just figuring out when something is fixed, especially when you're an indie game with a small marketing budget. June and July are notorious months for being awful to launch a game in (Steam Summer Sale, E3, etc...). If you're not a AAA title, it will not go well for you. This is why we've selected August. After all, we need Ambition to be successful, so we can keep making great games for you to enjoy.
I know this delay is significant, and you're all very excited, which is why this was such a tough decision to make. Nobody wants to delay a game after they announced a release date.
It's not all doom and gloom however! Delaying until August also means the PC and Switch releases will closer together, which is nice for our Nintendo friends who want to avoid spoilers.
We sincerely apologize for the delay. We were as excited as you all were for the launch, but we'll hold on to the hype a little longer!
