Mesdames et Messieurs,
We have a quick update for all of you concerning how things are going with our work on Ambition: A Minuet in Power, a preview of some of our music, as well as a write-up on another one of our possible love interests.
As content production continues apace on Ambition, we've wrapped up the core story writing for Chapter 2, and are moving into writing the core story elements for Chapter 3, the grand finale! Of course, this is being done side-by-side with writing all the fun random things that can occur on by chance in the streets and parties of Paris. Why bounce around with the writing like this? Mostly to prevent our writer (me) from burning out.
While this happens, we also have a fantastic array of music being composed. While it's not the final production version of the piece, we wanted to give you a preview of Fatima's theme. Fatima Shenna was introduced in a previous update, and now you can hear the theme that accompanies our canny dressmaker.
To quote our composer John:
"Fatima is a fascinating character; a brilliant dressmaker and designer, she provides you with the outfits that allow you to put your best face forward in the thrillingly fashion-conscious Paris. Her Moroccan heritage is reflected in the choice of solo instrument: the Oud. (A virtual instrument in this early WIP version, but soon to be replaced by the authentic article)."

In this character update, we’d like to introduce your to our next love interest: Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun.
One of the finest portrait painters of her time, Élisabeth has been known as Queen Marie Antoinette's personal artist. Close to power, but not necessarily beloved by her peers, Élisabeth has a troublesome history. While her demeanor is calm and dismissive of courtly pretensions, she's lately admitted to feeling listless and uninspired by her own work, and is searching for something to reinvigorate her passions. However, she has yet to find such a thing...
... or such a person.
Those that romance Élisabeth will find themselves with a relaxed woman, connected to power but one who feels conflicted due to the more pernicious elements of the art world. Someone who understands beauty, but also the fact that it has a price. They will also find someone who is utterly sick of being told how to act by those around her.

We're updating you with cause for celebration, as we recently finished our first development milestone with Humble Bundle and continue to press forward on the game!
Content production is proceeding full-tilt over here at the Joy Manufacturing Co. with our artists crafting beautiful illustrations and UI every day. The Prologue and Chapter 1 of the critical path story have been completed, along with the romance paths for all of the love interests in the game! Right now, our writing is focused on finishing the critical path story for Chapter 2, and on fleshing out all the random events that add sparks of surprise to the streets of Paris, the glamorous parties, and the smoking embers of coming revolution.

In this charater update, we’d like to introduce your to our next love interest: Corporal Thomas-Alexandre Dumas.
A low ranking member of the Queen's Royal Dragoons, Alex is nevertheless much beloved, for his rakish wit, and outgoing personality. Originally born in Saint-Domingue, Alex came to France when he was but a boy, and trained with some of the finest tutors and swordsmen in the country. However, some have noticed that Alex is rather evasive when asked questions about his family.
No matter! Everyone has their secrets...
Those that romance Alex will find themselves with a consummate gentleman, a man of uncommon gallantry, and perhaps one of the last men in Paris who understands what chivalry was supposed to mean.
One of the first things that concerned many of our backers when we started this campaign is that they wanted to make sure that DRM-free versions of the game would be available at launch.
